Experience

Richard Mabbitt has over 45 years’ international experience in urban and regional development. His work includes a variety of projects funded by the ADB, World Bank, EU, DFID, UNDP and UNESCO.

His first overseas job was as a VSO volunteer in Nigeria where he was the planner for Minna State. After periods with consultant firms, the Hong Kong Government, and a London Borough, he became a freelance consultant in 1994. As an independent he has worked with a number of international consulting companies, as well as directly for multi-lateral agencies and national governments. Since 2006 his role has been primarily either as a team leader on multi-disciplinary projects or as an individual advisor to the Asian Development Bank.
